Be a Champion of God by doing His will... follow your husband's lead

Be a Champion of God by doing His will. Seek your husband's advice and guidance and follow his lead and give him thanks! In this way, we better understand what is God's will for women... turn to Proverbs 31.
Just because we are called to come under our husband in God's order does mean that women don't have a great influence over their household and market place; which does not ask us to usurp men 'husbands' and the role that God intended for men. Women are called to positively influence the world by putting God first, how? Again, read Proverbs 31 and read it over and over. It does not call us to rule over men, to fight for equality with men. It asks us to do His will.  Throughout the Bible we are instructed to follow our husband's lead. By doing so, we become good leaders for our home, family and community. Whether you are a CEO or stay at home mom, in all decisions follow your husband's lead. These are difficult times as women are faced with having to work outside the home and be women of God. At the same time do their job which is really difficult given that many workplaces don't allow for openly Christian practices, verbalization, worship... Mass media is constantly bombarding us with fleshly pursuits/indulgences. Turn to the Lord, he will tell you to turn to your husband. As I do. When I have issues, problems, pains, I turn to my husband and he talks to me about my pain, fears, questions about life, faith and family. I am always thankful for his words. In fact, I am reborn again in my faith, I get strength from him and he can give it to me because he gets his from the Father.

Words - Blessing or Cursing Good Advice

Today, I was listening to Nancy Leigh DeMoss and she too was talking about the words we speak; what we say in private, public and especially to friends and family. She reminded us that as we speak words of blessing, we promote blessing. As we speak words of cursing, we promote cursing. Be careful 'mindful' when you say or hear things like, "I was just teasing. Just joking."
Proverbs 26 talks about people who say, "I'm just teasing." Here's how it describes that kind of teasing, that kind of cursing. It says, "Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death is a man who deceives his neighbor and says, 'I was only joking!'" (vs. 18–19)
So, when you speak the words, “I was just teasing,” what you tell others or makes you appear as... is a crazy man/woman who is throwing firebrands, arrows, and death. Guide your tongue wisely!

Proverbs 10:17 People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life, but those who ignore correction will go astray.

Living 'speaking" and "blessing' for God

1 Peter says we must live for God. "The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he/she has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he or she should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he or she should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things, God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To hm be the glory and the power for ever and ever Amen!" 1 Peter 4 1-11

We have in the power of our tongue to bless or to curse. Everyday we can be guilty of cursing and not truly beware of doing it let alone the consequences. I am not talking about constructive criticism using a Godly tone, I am talking about criticism that brings someone down. A few posts ago, I criticized women for commiserating. I am God for his forgiveness. I should be blessing women for their strengths and who seek to find support for being strong.

Yet, in reflection, I posted that comment as I do often hear women say things, like "if only my husband would get off his... and do things around here", do it for me as if they are some kind of queen.  I hear husbands too. And I hear mothers and fathers and older parents and grandparents say things that do not bless but curse.

If you are wondering why things are going wrong in your life, think if you have been blessing your loved ones, your job, your friends, or cursing them.  Remember, if anyone speaks, he or she should do it as one speaking the very words of God. And, know that "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. he must run from evil and od good, he must seek peace and pursue it. For the eys of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer ..." 1 Peter 3 10-12

Proverbs 14

Proverbs 14 The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.
What does that mean? We can understand it in this way. There is God's order of things. We as human beings know this intimately, that is why we seek to establish order because we were created in order and know that our creator gave us authority to maintain his order, a hierarchy of authority.  When we live outside of that or try to do better than his order, trying to free ourselves from His authority, we destroy what we have. Remember, firstly in God's order man 'husband's must be accountable to God and women accountable to their husbands.  It is harmful to disrupt this order. We must recognize God's order and obey. This does not mean that it will be a utopia, this is a fallen world we live in. Perhaps, because, of that we think that we have to take control, that God's order of things isn't working. We want to take charge and usurp God's order. Man is also guilty of doing this ... not being accountable to God. When this happens, women feel abandoned and the last stronghold of God's order and so we want to take over man's (husband's) role. In this instance, women are stepping outside of God's order. We want to justify this behavior, living outside of God's order/authority, by claiming that it is our human right. The only human right is God given and the Bible instructs women of the role and position in His order. We have to respect that. Socially engineering what we want based on the notion that we have a right to free ourselves from authority only lets evil in.
Women have a special role and it is to keep order, especially the household order and authority over their family.  Children cannot be allowed to rule themselves and or to be their own authority as if they know what is best for them. We as Christians (men and women) have to realize that God's authority is the best for us. If we turn to Him and accept our position in His authority we will be free indeed.

Confess that Jesus Christ is Lord

My words for women are not intended to be critical. They are intended to motivate readers to recognize the sin in their life and repent (rethink) and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. All to often I meet women that think as Satan did and does "I can do better, I can change him (husband) I can give my children all that they need"... This is God's job not yours.
We have to commit our mind to the Lord, give yourself to God completely. Trust in the Lord, not in the world!

Godly women don't commiserate

Do women need to commiserate, is that good or bad?

I find it to be a delicate subject when I talk to women. I myself do not commiserate. I think it is unwise for women to gather as a group without the proper head - a man.  This is not because I devalue women but because their value must be kept.  I have pointed to a number of scriptures that tell us this.

Why is it unwise to commiserate? Women need to be in relationship with their creator Jesus Christ first and foremost and then with their husbands. Why? Because, we were the vehicle of the corruption. You can argue otherwise of course. Yes, everything is permissible but not beneficial. If you are a Christian and value the Bible as the truth, then you should be wise in your activity. Accept your Godly creation and the role created for you as a woman.

We live and Move in Jesus Christ

As women we need to remember that we live and move in Jesus Christ
Acts 17 The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek hm and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our beings.

... the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek hm and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

This is the most important message for any Christian to realize and why we should not make decision without God's direction; which also means to be mindful of God's creation of/ role for women.

Satan's Feelings an inherited rebellion?

Feelings! Women have feelings or think they have more than men and or think that they are more feeling than men or that they have more feelings than men. You see, feelings got Eve into trouble and get us into trouble. Where do feelings come from and why do women think they have more or actually do have more? Eve was tempted by the serpent (Genesis) and this stirred in her 'Satan's feelings' (the corrupt program was installed) which got stronger and she became tormented, they 'Satan's feelings' drove her to disobey God. Many people ask why Eve. Why was woman tempted and not man. The serpent (Satan) saw gentleness and beauty in Eve. We can imagine that her program in its form and beauty was by necessity a 'multi tasking program' (as the partner/helper/mate to Adam) and thus she had to be more lucid (transparent) and fluid (flowing) and symbiotic (adapting) in nature. We can imagine in this sense that Eve's design is what made her attractive to the serpent and easy to corrupt.
Does this mean that we 'women' have to become unfeeling in order to be saved or in God's grace? No. It means we have to be careful with our feelings and always let God lead us regardless of how we feel, in that we often think blinding about how we feel that it is the right way to feel.
Reflecting on Satan's feelings and their continued effect...
What were Satan's feelings - He thought he could do a better job than God, "I will sit on the mountain, I will be the most high" as we can read in Isiah.
I think that today many women are confused about their role and relationship with God. They tend to feel that they can do better by pushing my way either by seduction, manipulation or self seeking glory/high position whether at work or at home .... have they continued to inherit the rebellion of Satan?
Is this kind of question Biblical? If we look to the old testament, we can find that such inheritance continued since the fall from Eden. For me, Sarai the wife of Abram and Rebecca the wife of Issac and Bathsheba, among others, stand out the most in the old testament. In the new testament, the one who stands out the most is the sister of Martha.

Women, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles... Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith...Hebrews 12

Complete in God's Imagination

I am complete in Christ and the fullness of God dwells in me. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge dwell in me through Christ Jesus. Colossians 2:3,9-10

Today's woman needs to understand this. By acknowledging this as we read above, we come to understand that women must (not just have to or need to) find their strength in Christ, because He is their main support system. Too often, women turn to external sources that are not Godly sources but man's imagination - not God's imagination. God's imagination is a social imagination; one which puts Him first ... first as the main component of the widest and most vastly possible social imagination. God created us in His image, which is a plurality. This is why we find ourselves and our reason for being in the social aspect; look to God and know that He has a place for you in His imagination because it is social. Ask for His guidance and know that in His imagination, all things are possible and in such possibility, you too are included.

Reciever of God's word

Receiver of God's word
My faith in the existence of God has never been in doubt but I can say that I did not realize how important His word was for me, how much of a relationship He wanted/wants me to have with Him.
As a woman, in this day and age, we struggle with identity and our place in the world. So, when turning to pages in the Bible, I saw words that I was not sure about like what we can find in Titus 2: 3-6
In the same way tell the older women to behave as women who live a holy life should. They must not be slanderers, or slaves to wine. They must teach what is good, in order to train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, and to be good housewives, who obey their husbands, ....
I was not sure about my role as a woman in the bigger wide world of work. I felt pressed to be something bigger 'smarter' than life, extraordinary. I thought I would feel good about myself if I had a positioin of authority in world of work. That was my biggest problem and so an excerpt like Titus was confusing. Our culture is one that praises go getters, and beauty in the flesh. God's words ask women to be modest and self - controlled and pure. Mass media leads us elsewhere.
I know and or realize that there are Christian women out there who would rather be at home yet pressed by other issues which cause them to work outside the home. The greatest being financial problems that cause women to have to work outside the home.
Reading this excerpt and Proverbs 31 a few times, I found comfort; more than I imagined. I felt loved by God for His words. This message is not His 'law' but good advice. In fact, the best practice for a wife and mother in these times. If you can stay at home, rejoice and know that you do a great service to God and your family. Know that staying at home does not mean you don't work, you do as such work is for the good of your home/household ... being a  good housewife means being generous and frugal with what you have. Find joy in setting the table for dinner, gathering your husband and children around that table and praising God for all you have!
If you work outside the home or at home, work with a heart/mind for God's greater glory and in that what you do will be/is for Him as well as for your home/family; and praise God for your work, for your family and show them (husband/children) and or tell them that what you do you do for God and you do for them.
It is this message that has given me peace and I hope it does for you too.

The Role of Women at home and in the Church

I believe in one God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God...

The role of women - older women should live not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home... Titus 3-6

As a sociologist, I am trying to understand the Word of God found in the Bible as an application for functioning society, what good would it do/does it have for society?
Given today's struggling family largely due to lack of employment, I see in God's appropriation of roles and tasks that his design was for our best interests, our own good - society's good.

Being busy at home and not out in the 'world of work' as we read in Proverbs 31, we discover/learn that women make their greatest contribution working at and for the home. In this way, the world of work outside of home belongs God as He ordained it, where men have their place as He designed... not by man's design and certainly not by women's.

This creates stability, balance and harmony. Let our Creators' work/design be embraced and lived!

As for women in the church - In the Lord,... woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God. Judge for yourselves: is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice nor do the churches of God. 1 Cor 11:11

As Christians, why do we want to be contentious? Why not see the beauty in God's design for women, the role He created for them. Maybe then, we would have the better world we long for.

Being Children of Light

Toward an understanding...
Women being Children of Light... this means to be born again in Christ Jesus... He is our Salvation and has been since the fall, since man's corruption. We live in a fallen world, "every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood" Gen 8:21 ... if we do not become born again, we remain senseless children Jer 4:22.
Because, we live in a fallen world, it is not easy to live in God's imagination. We must remind ourselves that
being children of light means to accept God's word as the ultimate truth and protection for us, the way forward for our salvation...To be Saved. Imagine a computer program as information operationalized. We are like a computer program (God's program) and in order to be saved and not thrown into the vault where all corruption is contained, we must operate according to the word of God our creator who loves us and does not want us to end up in eternal darkness.

Godly wives

In this day and age when feminism is the ultimate campaign of becoming a fulfilled woman, much criticism can come to such a discussion like this- one that encourages women to be good wives. The popular message promoted today is to be self determined in self promotion and self satisfaction and in fact that women have a right to be 'selfish'.
Ephesians 5:22 Wives submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body o f which he is the Savior. Now, as the church submits to Christ so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
In this moment, I beg you readers not to bark out "how dare she, how could she believe such tripe, no man can tell me what to do. I am my own person".
If you read further, Eph 25, you will read that husbands are required to love their wives as Christ loved the church nd gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the words and to present her to himself as a radiant church... In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

You see, God meant for man and woman to love each other and to be for each other, not against...

Glorifying God

I am not legalistic. I am not saying that women cannot work outside their home, only that they work for it. Everything a woman does, wholeheartedly, for her home, glorifies God. Of course, a woman can find herself unmarried: divorced, or windowed.  Her choices as to how she will move forward must be God's will for her. Of course, one can yell and holler that because she has no money, she has to work so that she can take care for her children, she has to, she has to ....No, she has to rest in the Lord, listen, and when His word comes, and it will, then move forward. God's love is so great, no one has to because He wants to.

Jesus Christ is your King!

Jesus Christ is your King! He is the great King. He has always existed and He created this whole physical world. He was called many names such as Adonai (Lord) and Elohim (God) by the faithful children of God long ago, and when He took up the task of being physically born into this world as a man, He made Himself known by the name Yeshua Ha-Mashiach (the Annointed, He will save). This is a Hebrew name and when translated into Greek, it is Iesous Christos. When Iesous is translated into Latin, it is Jesu. Those who speak English call Him by the name Jesus Christ. According to the Hebrew language, this name means something like, 'the anointed who will save,' and the great King is exactly that.

A Godly Woman
Proverbs 31
I am always surprised that out of this long descriptive text, women arrive at the idea that God wants women to work outside the home. With this assumption, we mislead ourselves. God wants women to work for the home. The home is her domain and what she does, she does for her home, her husband and children.  Godly women understand that you cannot be a a fulfilled woman unless you know how God intended you to live. The woman described in proverbs 31 is not the corporate executive who seeks to show men what she can do as good as them or better. The woman in proverbs 31 is not the sit around the house who seeks to take advantage of men including her husband. The woman in proverbs 31 is a Godly woman, she takes her job seriously as homemaker, wife and mother.
