Death is in the World Because of Sin

Why do bad things happen? Because, sin is in the world. Because of sin, which came into the world through the serpent who tempted Eve causing both Adam and Eve to disobey God, causing them to become corrupt and to fall from their perfect state of being, death is inevitable. Exactly! Because of original sin 'corruption', death is inevitable. Praise the Lord that Jesus Christ came to earth (into this world) to show us that death of the flesh is overcome by the born again resurrected spirit.

"...We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the first born among many brothers. And those He predestined, He also called, those He called, He also justified, those he justified, He also glorified. What then shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also along with Him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justified... Who shall separate us from the Love of Christ? Shall trouble hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long, we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future nor any powers neither height nor depth nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8: 28-39

* "For I fully expect and hope that I will never be ashamed, but that I will continue to be bold for Christ, as I have been in the past. And, I trust that my life will bring honor to Christ, whether I live or die. For t me, living means living for Christ and dying is even better." Philippians 1:20

Why do bad things Happen?

We can hear that question every day. "So, why do bad things happen", or what some ask, "why does God let bad things happen?"

God does not let them happen. But, because of original sin, God knows that bad things will happen and yet He can turn them around for good...for His good which is for all our good. This, we may not, from the perspective of this world, understand. What we know is that God suffered far more than anyone has or will ever have. Jesus Christ came into this world to show us that the only escape of this fallen world with all its sin is death. God gave us free will, and He acknowledges our choice and He allows us to experience the outcome of our choices, trouble and suffering is part of that.

Effectively, we are blessed even when bad things happen. How? When we give ourselves to Him, trusting in Him that good will ultimately reign when the bad things happen, then we are blessed. Trusting in Him to turn things around for His glory which is ultimately ours. We know this to be true as His Word promises.

Now, someone can say, "Well,  my brother never chose cancer or my son never chose to be killed in a car accident." Our remote ancestors Adam and Ever made a decision that affected every person born since then as well as nature itself. We put a curse on ourselves and the world because we choose to disobey God, the curse is 'corruption' which means that the world is now operating in a way that it was never intended to.

Cancer is a result of this world because our body is not able to function in the perfect way that it was intended to. An accident is also the result of our being in an imperfect corrupted world.

Did  Jesus's coming really change that circumstance as in create an 'out'...? Yes, by accepting Jesus' as the new Adam a new kind of man as in 'reborn' (God in the flesh - born to die and be resurrected) we are able (being born again -baptized) to be changed on the inside with the expectation of the outside being changed soon along with the restoration of the earth and nature as it was before the fall of man.

This world is a fallen world. Jesus reminded us that though we are in it, we are not of it ~ John 15:18. In Him, we overcome this world, through death of this world and resurrection in Christ.

What about prayer, don't some people pray and actually experience miracles? Yes, that can happen. We can call on the Holy Spirit to help us overcome this world and ask if that is God's will that a person remain with us, he/she will be healed; because, by God the Holy Spirit's intervention His Will / His Glory will be revealed and recognized. And, sometimes, God shows another way to overcome this world and that is through death which is also His good as such it also reveals His Will/Glory arriving at the same result... which is "...he who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life."

"For anyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world... anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart.  And, this is the testimony - God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life."  1 John 5

Put on the Armor of God

Be strong in the Lord!

Ephesians 6:11

"Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground and after you have done everything to stand... Stand firm then with the belt of truth buckled around your waist with the breastplate of righteousness in place and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God and pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."

Works vs. Fruits ~ Drawn by God /Choosing God - Bears Good Fruit!

Matthew 7: 18 "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit". God draws us to Him. Thus, we are chosen by God and though being chosen we have to receive Him. By receiving Him, we choose to do His will for it is by our choice to receive that we do His Will. That is why a man/woman not drawn to God and yet chooses to do what he/she thinks is God's will ... will not bear good fruit.  "Not everyone who says to me "Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, only the one who does the will of my Father". Matthew 7:21

Being drawn to Him, one is chosen by Him. Choosing Him in return, we are born again (become a child of God) which causes us to choose and do His will, "Thus, by their fruit, you will recognize them" Matthew 7:20. The man/woman who is not drawn to God and will not choose Him nor His Will and thus cannot bear good fruit. Though, he/she thinks he/she does God's will he/she does only that which he/she chooses to do and why his/her choices will not be good fruit and though his/her works may be many they will not be good enough to have him/her enter the kingdom of heaven. "I will tell them plainly, I never knew you." Matthew 7:23

Does that mean that any man drawn by God and chooses God yet does not His will as in 'does good works' will still enter the kingdom of heaven? Good question. No man/woman drawn by God to Him and chooses God can ever not bear good fruit. In fact, they don't even have to try to bear good fruit as in 'do good works'... that is the point. All his/her fruits will be good fruit for they have been drawn to God and have chosen God in return. A parent draws his/her child to their bosom and it is up to the child as in his/her choice to receive as in to 'choose' the parent that gave them life. This is faith, this is first fruits and this alone saves!

From that moment on, all work (whatever it is) that comes from a child of God will be good fruit. Amen!

"If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work" 2 Timothy 2:21

What are those good works that God tells us through Timothy ? "The Fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." Galatians 5:22  Do we just start working? No, we don't. Why? Because that's work. Those good fruits 'works' come out of/from us, they are the fruit we bear being children of God. There is no work in that. We could never do enough good works for all our righteous acts are but filthy rags... Isaiah 64:6

"It is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:9

God and Social Justice

I don't often re-post a blog's content that was used in another blog of mine. But, this post needs to be repeated.... at least one hundred times.

Me ~ There is a lot of discussion today about social justice. If I am correct in reading the news, the Pope is encouraging this discussion. What do you say about God and social justice?

John ~ There is a heresy that has crept into the Church that God/Jesus was concerned about Social Justice. God our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was concerned with every individuals' salvation. Yes, He addressed many poor as they reached out to Him eager to listen. That did not mean Jesus did not reach out to the wealthy, he did; and, even had dinner at their house. Christ was about the salvation of every man - rich and poor. He was not about 'group' justice. This is what we are being subjected to today.

Me ~ What do you mean 'group' justice?

John ~ Jesus was concerned first and foremost with individual righteousness and the Kingdom of God. Our so called social justice is concerned with group identity and political manipulation of groups in the name of "justice". So, what is happening is that certain groups are being politically favored in order that the controlling group who really rule over and above every man are given the right to take property and wealth from particular groups under them and redistribute their wealth by 'their' made man law which seems 'righteous' but what it really does is allow the controlling group to keep their wealth by making others (not in their circle group) pay what they (control group) deem to be their fair share.

The Lord God has always been concerned with the heart of individuals and as we read His Word, we come to know that He never conducted group healing or group therapies or group talk shows (orchestrated by Him) proposing a certain agenda. Yes, many poor gathered around Him and He talked to them but not as if they were a kind of group that needed special attention. He said himself, "the poor you will always have" Matthew 26:11. And thus, He demanded from every individual to those less fortunate. He was concerned about the purity of the individual heart and the calling of the elect into God's Kingdom - His social justice.

Jesus never called upon the slaves or poor to rise up and demand political redress by violence of fiat. This notion was devised by atheists who do not believe that the human heart can be saved and therefore choose to make laws to make people behave by threat of violence to them. Hardly the same message that the Lord and Savior Christ Jesus preached.

"If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing."
 1 COR 13:3

Looking at that scripture from Corinthians, we can ask "What does that mean?" It means that no matter what you are rich or poor, if you have not love in your heart you gain nothing. A poor man can be as unloving and hateful as any rich man. We assume today that the rich are hateful and that the poor are loving and kind =  the 'good' people. This is not true but a slogan of propaganda used by the control group. This was the agenda the control group used against society in Jesus's time.

Repent Together!

Marriage is not about 'your' happiness. It is about glorifying God. It is about looking forward to His Kingdom. When our marriage seems to be slipping away from this as in going in a direction that is not glorifying the Lord; then, spouses should come together in repentance and ask the Lord for direction in their life.

Happiness and its pursuits here and now revealed in our times. Our sinful descent reflected everywhere. One can see a serious downward spiral as one hears people demanding their children have the right to determine the means / methods of learning, people and their children showing their devotion to football teams, magic castles and pleasure boat rides, sport endurance and beauty pageants, people and their children engaged in cartoon super hero idolatry, people and their children acting like best friends and not in a proper parent / child relationship. Children and their parents posting fb slogans or politically correct images and poetry... not the word of God. People and their children treating God's Word - The Bible as a kind of literature. People and their children putting their trust in a man and his law and not God nor in faith! Are you one of these people? Repent if you are, because your salvation depends on it.

Turn to the Lord our God Jesus Christ, be healed and sin no more.

Regrets Made Right through Jesus Christ

Regrets are always made right through Jesus Christ ... "I when lifted up from the earth shall draw all men to myself." John 12:32

If any regret can be shared it is not being brought up in the word of God - the Bible... not knowing how the flesh was corrupted and indulging in it leads us down a path for further corruption. Yet, in view of John 12:32, and once a man/woman is born again in the Spirit, the word of God is made known to them as they are drawn to  Him and regrets disappear.

We cannot thus morn the past. Eternal life belongs to those who can envision new life in Jesus Christ!

The Problem with Women Pastors

If you read Paul's letters, you will read that women had a role in the church; but, they were not the number one 'head/leader' of the 'church' congregation. This is outside of God's hierarchy which we can read in Ephesians 5 and many other scriptures. Every group, be it family, nation or church needs a Father first and then mother. The Father is the first and number one leader in our wider relationship with the world.  Father is the go to person in that respect because the Father is the head of the family, the Father is protector, and leader, and pastor.

Of course, I have heard many stories about good Christian women being good pastors. Sadly, over time, their congregations dwindle to a few men and a few women. Every family, every community needs a Father. Women in times of trouble, doubt, uncertainty, fear, danger especially look to 'their' Father and if they don't have one, they wish they did. Turning to mother is not wrong. Children need nurturing and this is mother's role; after all, every mother has only the strongest love for 'her' child. Because of that, Father has a role which is able to extend outside of that.

That is why when we are engaged in the wider social group,as in the world, Father has the role of leader, protector and deliverer from our pitiful and helpless situations while mother is feeding and caring for her child's needs that require mother. Father is thus able to deal with issues that concern his entire family by seeking to understand the and provide for the good of the community who too live in this fallen world, and because mother is at home taking care of his family, he is able to be selfless in his leadership so that mercy and grace extends to even those outside of his own family.

We, as Children of God, look to our Father in Heaven in the same way... as in those situations 'we' - wider society as a 'people' have a great need for His mercy, grace and love.

This is God's hierarchy.

Good parents don't create pride filled mediocre children

We as parents have a bad habit ...and that is to tell and teach our children to be proud as in pride filled. We fail to promote and teach what it means and is to be spirit filled and spirit led. By constantly rewarding children for every little thing that they do, we create / cause them to be pride filled and nothing more than mediocre people and worse mediocre Christians.

All too often, I hear that we have too high expectations for our children. I say we don't have enough. Ask yourself, what does God expect from you? Does He expect you to be mediocre and just to be comfortable in this fallen word? Does He expect you to be less than who you can be; ...not go the distance in any struggle or goal, not to push yourself in directions that you don't want to go? Of course not.

We are not expected to just sit around and wait for Him to return. We prepare. How? By accepting Jesus into our hearts. In this way and through His guidance, we are expected to and can live everyday as if we were already in the New Jerusalem... leading and teaching. How is that possible when the New Jerusalem is not here? In this here and now, this fallen world, we must show the Lord that because He is our Lord and Savior we can and strive to overcome this world and that means going the distance, doing more than just being comfortable, both spiritually and physically. It is by showing the Lord that we embrace His promise of eternal life in this life that we show we are already living in the New Jerusalem. We thus live and love, though in this fallen world. We are made able to go the extra mile for Him as that He is looking for in us. And, what we should look for and expect from our children.

Children are made secure by parents love and authority. In this way, they can become secure productive Christian adults and not mediocre people.

Happiness ~ What is the Secret of Being Content in All Circumstances

Jesus is Calling ~

Rejoice in me always! No matter what is going on, you can rejoice in your love-relationship with Me. This is the secret of being content in all circumstances.

So many people dream of the day when they will finally be happy: when they are out of debt, when their children are out of trouble, when they have more leisure time, and so on. While they daydream, their moments are trickling into the ground like precious balm spilling wastefully from overturned bottles.

Fantasizing about future happiness will never bring fulfillment because fantasy is unreality. Even, though I am invisible, I am far more Real than the world you see around you. My reality is eternal and unchanging. Bring your moment to me and I will fill them with vibrant joy. No is the time, to rejoice in My Presence!

Philippians 4:4, Psalm 102:27

Why are people so determined to live in the world?

Only fools say in their hearts, "There is no God". They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good! God looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God. But no, all have turned away; all have become corrupt. No one does good, not a single one! Psalm 53: 1-3... and so He sent His only Son! Embrace the one who is the truth, the light and the way; for no one comes to the Father except by Jesus Christ ~ John 14:6.

Carnal living is living in the world which means living in the flesh. That's means putting your trust in mortal men who cannot save. It means thinking that 'your' church is the 'right' church. It means putting your trust in 'your' group, with your people, with the right laws and right people in government... Are you living that way??? Remember, God's church is not brick and mortar, nor in one kind of people in terms of race, ethnicity, culture... God loves diversity which is revealed in all His creation. What makes His creation united is believing in Him as the one true God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, of all things seen and unseen and that He gave His son Jesus Christ to Save us from the sin of death!

In these times, we see carnal living all around us. We see and read about people indulging in this world as a kind of pleasure rather than living in the Holy Spirit and by the Word of God. "Don't call everything a conspiracy, like they do and don't live in dread of what frightens them. Make the Lord of Heaven's Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble" ...Because, He is the only one who will and can keep you safe~ Isaiah 8:12-14

Too Much Democracy at Home???

For some parents, there is no problem when kids don't want to do what parents consider to be in their best interests. All too often, parents cave in to their children's wants and find themselves doing what they want to do. They think they are being democratic as in fair or just when they ask the kids what they want to have (things/food) and what they want to do (learn/play/vacation). Is there anything wrong with that?

Yes, Absolutely.

A Christian household has rules that are based on and follow God's hierarchy; which is ~  God the Father, husband/father, wife/mother (Ephesians 5) and children - Ephesians 6 "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."

Parental guidance in God's hierarchy and life in general with its struggles is what children truly need; again parental guidance is needed in all aspects of their life even into adulthood. Parents are not dictators, they instruct what the Lord God expects. There is a necessary chain of command in God's hierarchy so that His word is kept, which keeps families, communities and all the world kept for God's purpose.

When children see parents respect God's hierarchy and seek the Lord in their struggles, their sin, children will learn to do the same. As children are commanded to honor and obey their parents all their life, loving parents are asked not to antagonize or exasperate 'provoke' their children (Ephesians 6); which, basically means not cause them to be adverse to parents and in a state of hostility toward them. This  does not mean giving in to children's desires/wants.

Loving parents are disciplinarians while at the same time caregivers of God's treasure (family) and this they convey to and reassure their children of by showing their love and respect for God our Father in Heaven the Lord Jesus Christ and His hierarchy. In this way, His Kingdom comes and His will be done!

After all... He is the Creator of all heaven and earth and His purpose for us here includes our salvation which is for the greater good ~ The New Jerusalem.
