Contemporary Culture Compromising our Faith and Role in Society

Many contemporary women are struggling with their role and position in society. The rant today is "what about me" !!!! The dialogue is Me Myself and I. We should be asking - What about men? I would like to hear women ask, what is the role of women in context of their relationship with God and men including and especially our husbands. Are we engaging in dangerous waters? Yes. The question should not be how to get along in this culture but how to change the culture rather how to get back to the what the Bible clearly tells us. We should be trying to get back to families not just treading water where we are. Today's dialogue is just hens clucking, rather than trying to address the real problem- why aren't women discussing their problems in context of being Godly mothers and wives putting their families first. Why women are not talking in context of their men. Yes, we are hurting men with this kind of isolated hand ringing feminine commiserating dialogue. The question should be - How do I go back to being a Godly woman who puts God first, and her family next, not herself or her career. Yes, unfortunate things befall us, we should turn to God always and our husbands. Even for women who do not marry, my advice, ...do not seek to usurp men in your career/jobs/community, work with them and acknowledge their authority and encourage them to seek their authority - God!

  1. While the trouble is that many women in America today are not married the Church ought to be dialoging on ways to improve that - not go along with the culture and allow women to commiserate and focus on themselves. There is nothing "godly" in that!
