Is Criticism a Way of Being Pious?

As some feel criticized by pointing flaws in their walk with the Lord, they too can become quick to judge one as being pious. As sisters in Christ, members of His body, existing yet in a fallen world, we are not asked to confront one another in a manner that is threatening, (I'll sue you/I'll get my lawyer) demanding to bring offenses before a court of man but we are asked to confront each other in a quiet and maybe sternly manner. Are we not truly after the salvation of another human being?  Isn't our goal to bring Christian people who are stumbling back to the fold? Yes!

The first step in that direction is for women in Christ to put their own desires aside and their husbands first. He comes under God and thus acts on our behalf for our salvation. The social hierarchy of the Lord is: God, man, woman and all others. This is not to subject anyone to harshness or punishment but to follow rules that a Loving God has set down for our own good until He comes again bringing His Kingdom, the New Jerusalem.

No one is insisting on you in pious self denial as everything is permissible not everything is beneficial (1 COR 10:23). But, if we truly wish for greater peace here and now, a greater and more intimate walk with Christ being salt and light for Him in this fallen world, then we by our own choice will deny the self and serve the Lord. This is what we as Christian women must teach our children and represent in our communities.

If one goes in the opposite direction, if one opts for a free unrestricted, a happy go lucky, let it all hang out... just be enthusiastic about life and not critical about others, then who is salt and light, what is salt and light?

We could run the risk of evil becoming good!
