Raising Boys and Girls in the Word of God!

"For He was before all things and in Him all things hold together" ~ Col 1:17.

The best source for any parent's guidance is the Word of God. It contains all answers we need. Why? Because, the Word of God contains so many wise scriptures/verses about children, what they are expected of as a child of God. Anyone raising children knows how difficult things can get but also what a blessing children are.

Firstly, a child (girls/boys) must know the source of your authority by which you instruct. That must begin early on; in fact, in their infancy and repeat it often as they grow.  For it is by His authority that you are and that you live. "In Him, we live, move and have our being" ~ Acts 17:28.

"For He was before all things and in Him all things hold together" ~ Col 1:17.  "For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him" ~ Col 1:16 .

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it ~ John 1: 1-5.

The Supremacy of the Son of God
"The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven"...~ Colossians 1:15-20.

When it comes to what boys must learn/do or girls must learn/do... there is no difference for all who are born again in Jesus Christ are children of the light. This does not happen to them instantly for we all are born in sin; they must come to understand that because of our fallen nature, Christ is supreme over our/their life and that we/they must love God first and foremost because He is God, our Lord and Savior!

When and if they embrace that, they will be born again, they will be confident in who they are (a creation of God either as a boy or a girl), and being confident in who they are, they will be patient, they will be honest and able to show lovingkindess. They will be prepared for life as a man, as a woman, a husband/father, a wife and mother. They will understand and accept the social roles that God has designed for them either as men/women, as husbands/fathers, and wives/mothers.

*Jesus Christ died for us and without Him we are but filthy rags in a fallen world ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:10 and Isaiah 64:6.  And, someday when your children are truly ready to accept this truth and give their life to Jesus Christ, they will be born again and be given eternal life for salvation is a gift given by God! With your diligence as a godly parent, that day will come!
