There is no one righteous, no not one.
We have to come to grips with this and then from there we can truly understand
Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and how during this time we should be spending
as much time contemplating as possible that truth and the reality of it ~
eternal life.
Reading from Romans 3:9-20 ~ What then? Are we any better? Not at
all. For we have already made the charge that Jews and Greeks alike are all
under sin. As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one. There is
no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have
together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”
“Their throats are open graves; their
tongues practice deceit.”
“The venom of vipers is on their lips.”
“Their mouths are full of cursing and
of bitterness.”
“Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin
and misery lie in their wake, and the way of peace they have not known.” “There
is no fear of God before their eyes.”
Now we know that whatever the law says, it
says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and
the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be justified in
His sight by works of the law. For the law merely brings awareness of sin.
Why do ‘bad things happen to ‘good’ people.
Because, there are no good people. We have been born into a fallen world; therefore, there are none righteous. But righteousness of God apart from the law
is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the
righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who
believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that
is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through
faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had
passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the
present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the
one who has faith in Jesus. Romans 3: 22-26.
There is no one righteous, no not one.
We have to come to grips with this and then from there we can truly understand
Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and how during this time we should be spending
as much time contemplating as possible that truth and the reality of it ~
eternal life.
Because, again and indeed, bad things happen
to us. This is a fallen world and though we have been redeemed by Jesus Christ,
we are still in a fallen state. We can and should in pray in all things asking
for God’s intervention, asking if He may deliver us from sickness and disease
if it is His Will to glorify Him. He can stand on His Word which says
that by His stripes we are healed.
Such prayer draws on our inheritance… that
which is already been given which is eternal life for those that believe.
The Lord will never burden you with more than you can stand… and He knows that
those who live by faith and not by sight can stand much for they stand firm in
the Word.
Let us not be afraid and humbly yet fervently
offer up our meager and weak prayers and even unintelligible for they are the
prayers of the faithful… they will rise up and the heavens will open up
changing them into the divine language of the Holy Spirit.
And, let us not tempt fate. We in the body of
Christ, do not put our trust in mortal men who cannot save, we put our trust in
God; and, yet we do not tempt fate… obey the government for by doing so it will
go well with you/for you. And, God will work in you for His glory which is for
your eternal salvation.
The church is not a building built by the
hands of men... the church is built by the Word of God. If you haven't
participating in building that church... now is the time!
