Remember what the
apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. They said to you, “In the
last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly
desires.” These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural
instincts and do not have the Spirit.
But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
Be merciful to those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.
What is the experience of praying in the Holy Spirit? Our prayers are most likely to prevail when we pray in the Holy Ghost (which means) under his guidance and influence, according to the rule of His word, with faith, fervency, and earnestness; this is praying in the Holy Ghost.
And in that, a believing expectation of eternal life will arm us against the snares of sin: lively faith in this blessed hope will help us to mortify our lusts ~Matthew Henry Commentary on Jude 1:19.
Then I remembered the word of the Lord, as He used to say, 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit' ~ Acts 11:16.
Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you--guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us ~ 2 Timothy 1:14.
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all ~ 2 COR 13:14.

It is through His death, burial and resurrection that we are born again; not of the flesh but of the Spirit. "And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins" ~ 1 COR 17.
